DESIGN WEEKLY -01

For this week’s design, I wanted to create a door handle that had great adaptability, and it’s able to pair with different materials (in the render I show combination of metal, wood, and stone.). In this project, I utilized the concept of geometry subtraction. The circular shape was sliced in half on the horizontal handle direction. It creates an interesting hollow space. When light hits on the handle, it shows the beauty of the circular geometry shape. The other direction that’s connected to the plate was sliced 1/8 open, leaving a gap to reveal the secondary material when one sees the handle from above.

The form is minimal but the possibility is maximal.
